For many UX designers — and any creative contributors, for that matter — a great deal of work goes into “The Pitch.” That critical period of time where we present our most compelling work to clients, in the hope of influencing their decisions toward the best possible outcome for all involved. (Some of my recent pitch assets can be seen at left.)
Like most designers, there are aspects of the pitch I enjoy… and some that I don’t.
Things I like:
- Freedom to explore creative ideas without a box
- Brainstorming with a team
- Learning new things about an industry
Things I dislike:
- When the problem you are trying to solve is unclear
- Trying to conjure up the cost of a project
- Losing (which happens)
